wool-of-alpaca

Few people know that alpaca wool is totally hypoallergenic.

This incredible quality is due to the total absence of lanolin, which is present instead in sheep’s wool.Lanolin, also called wool grease, is produced by the sheep’s sebaceous glands and has waterproofing and protective functions but is also the cause of the rather strong odor that characterizes its fleece.

Theabsence of lanolin facilitates wool washing operations, allowing us to avoid using the chemicals used to wash sheep’s wool, only neutral soap. Alpaca wool is a thermal insulator that can retain heat and disperse moisture due to the extreme fineness of its fibers.

We can therefore declare that alpaca wool is:

  1. Hypoallergenic
  2. Odorless
  3. Breathable

Natural is better…
